Most of the time the standard set-up is the best, but varying conditions or personal preferences might make you change something here and there. This system on the 'Evolved 5th line' makes it possible to change the profile of the kite during flight. This is done by pulling on the 5th line. This runs through a clamcleat which ensures that the lines stays put at the setup that you choose. The advantage is that you change the profile of the kite a little and you create depower: more lift and hangtime and better upwind capabilities (there's also less turbulence/drag at the trailing edge). When the shape is a bit rounder, you get more lift. VTET: Variable Trailing Edge Tension. The 3 black triangles in the trailing edge ensure that the tension remains the same during even the most aggressive kiteloops, hence this ensures a rigid profile and enables the kite to turn fast. Upwind: In combination with the board I was able to go upwind easily even with very little wind. To me personally this is important cuz you can keep on jumping. Speed: I thought that the 13 was fast for its size, the 9 seemed about average. Barpressure: A light barpressure which enables you to feel where the kite is positioned but is light to handle. Loops: Kite developed little but very constant power in SLE settings, but I haven't tried it during strong winds as of yet. Pop: Can't say much about it; my first unhooked raley was an immediate success with this kite (C-shape stand) so that did make me happy! Hangtime: I got pretty high with little to no effort! The SLE setting gives your more hangtime. Waterrelaunch: Didn't test it, but shouldn't be a problem with the 5th or SLE. Windrange: The 9m2 can be used pretty fast. Since the kite can also be set to SLE it has a big range. The high end is is a little bit less, the 9m was pulling quite a bit at 6/7 bft (I did have it set to C shape) and ofcoruse you can still remove the extensions or set it up as an SLE.
